Malcolm is Pelorus Real Estate’s Managing Director.
Starting in the Real Estate Industry in 1989, Malcolm worked initially in residential sales for three years (1989-1992) for Wellington’s strongest Residential Agency, Leaders Real Estate Limited in their Karori office.
Given his ongoing interest in Commercial Real Estate Malcolm moved in 1992 to Raine & Horne Limited MREINZ, (recently taken over by C B Richard Ellis) and from Raine & Horne Limited to Cooney Property Limited in 1993 a specialist Wellington based Commercial Real Estate Agency & Consultancy where he worked for six years.
In October 1999 Malcolm commenced business in his own right under the name of Pelorus Real Estate Limited based in Kaiwharawhara Road, Ngaio Gorge. He has built Pelorus to increase turnover consistently 30% per annum since inception. Today Pelorus has a total of seven salespeople and three support staff. Pelorus in 2004 shifted to centrally located offices in Willis Street, Te Aro with their own dedicated 60 seat auction room. His vision is to build Pelorus into a significant force in the Wellington Commercial Real Estate industry within 10 years and is well on the way to achieving this aim.
Malcolm is an experienced auctioneer having completed in excess of 140 commercial and residential auctions both on site and in auction rooms. Additionally he has also conducted over 400 general goods auctions and numerous fundraising auctions for various organisations during the last 15 years.
Prior to entering Real Estate Malcolm completed a Bachelor of Commerce & Administration Degree at Victoria University and worked in the sharemarket as a client advisor/stock exchange operator.
Since entering Real Estate Malcolm has attended numerous Real Estate courses on Auctioneering, Sales/Marketing and educational seminars provided by REINZ. He completed his Diploma in Business Studies in Real Estate and achieved AREINZ status in 1999.
Malcolm’s interests outside of work are public speaking, being a member of Toastmasters, bike riding and tramping.
